The Samsung G800 Sound

February 7th, 2009

Mark Hirst asked:

You would think that with all the hype given to the camera feature of the Samsung G800, it is the only outstanding quality of this mobile phone. Samsung G800 is first and foremost a mobile phone and needless to say, it would have the necessary features of a mobile phone.

Communication by phone would seem to be a secondary feature of Samsung G800. However, the clarity of the sound during calls is a manifestation that no compromise was made in developing this feature. The clear sound makes communicating no trouble at all. Samsung G800 offers five different dialing styles. Dialing a number on this mobile phone could be entertaining because of the dialing animations.

Samsung G800 is also used as a portable music player. If you are a Swiss knife user or your key ring has a nail clipper, a mini bottle opener or if you generally want multifunctional things then, this mobile phone is for you. Aside from the conventional uses of a mobile phone you now have a digicam and a portable music player all in one unit.

This mobile phone will be most wanted by people who can’t seem to live without music. You can customize your playlist or you can go back to recently played tracks. And if you get tired of listening to the music player and you got bored with the prerecorded music you have another option …the FM radio. With the stereo FM radio on you will be able to hear music that is not included in your play list. What is more appealing is the clear and nice sound quality. The FM radio has a self tune option – meaning it can find all the stations with adequate signal and add them to the preset ones. With just a few presses on the keys you will be able to access them easily.

Smartphones - the World in Your Pocket

Ben Salem asked:

Will Smartphones replace the PC?

There is no universally agreed-upon definition as to what constitutes a Smartphone: for some, it is a mobile phone with operating system and other application software, for others, it is a phone with more capabilities and features than a standard mobile phone. No matter how you define it, this technological marvel has come a long way since IBM introduced the first Smartphone, called “Simon,” in 1992. In the 16 years since Simon was created, the Smartphone has evolved into a hybrid of a mobile phone and a PC.

From the start, these devices have been perfect for business travelers, making it possible to monitor email and keep track of appointments. Now, with Microsoft Windows Mobile software, one can have the convenience of the office on a Smartphone. Applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and of course, the internet can be accessed without the hassle of lugging around a laptop. Early versions of the Smartphone used handwriting or touchpad technology to send emails, but many models now come with QWERTY keyboards that provide more accuracy and ease of use.

In addition to the serious, work or school related features that make these devices so indispensable, most come with cameras, the capability to play DVDs and download music, and play games. Of course, of the growing number of available applications are not all about either work or fun and games. GPS Navigation software provides a level of convenience that many people find indispensable these days and, with so many features being added, having GPS Navigation software means much more than only finding one’s way around town.

The issue of security with Smartphones is an important one, given that so many business people use them. Currently, the devices are susceptible to hackers and vulnerable to viruses. Although some feel that these concerns are blown out of proportion by security providers, the industry is working on measures to make Smartphones more secure.

Another aspect that merits attention is the development of a variable geometry screen, which would be of benefit to many users. However, as the technology continues to explode, there will surely be new designs and features created to enhance the physical comfort and increase the efficiency of Smartphone users. Advances in the design and appearance of the device, along with more and more available software and programming options will surely increase the appeal of Smartphones to a wider audience.

Will Smartphones replace the PC? It certainly seems possible that, at the least, Smartphones will continue to grow in popularity. Their incredibly convenient size and versatility of design make them a favorite among business travelers, who tend to help dictate the direction of this wide-open area of technology. And, with the constantly growing availability of software applications, like Microsoft Windows Mobile and GPS Navigation systems, it would seem that eventually, there will be nothing a Laptop can do that cannot be accomplished with a Smartphone!  For more information about Smartphone windows mobile visit http://www.mobiumgps.com

The Best Camera Mobile Phones This Christmas - the Sony Ericsson C905 and S302

Matt Sharp asked:

In 2008, one company is set on shaping the universe of camera-equipped mobile phones. This manufacturer is Sony Ericsson, and they are determined to dominate not just the world in top-end camera phones, but bottom-end handsets, as well!

Camera phones evolve - the Sony Ericsson legacy

It’s rather apt, really, that Sony Ericsson are the ones at the forefront of the revolution in camera-equipped mobile phones. I mean, it was they who kicked it all off, long ago, in 2002. Let’s not forget that they were the first manufacturer to unveil a mobile phone with a camera in it, within the British marketplace. That phone was the Sony Ericsson P800, but it didn’t get the mass market penetration Sony Ericsson would’ve liked, as it was an incredibly (for the time) high-end smartphone. However, their most iconic device in history was about to be unveiled, and that one DID get great market penetration. It was the Sony Ericsson T610, and it changed the playing field. There was a device that stood head and shoulders over the other mobile phones it was up against. It was compact, it was sexy, and customers went MENTAL for it. And, let us remember that the Sony Ericsson T610 also had a built-in camera, and that it was really the first handset to hit that mass market, and make them go, ‘Hang on, we actually do want cameras in our mobile phones!’

Today, the camera phone world has split, into entry-level handsets, and top-end camera-equipped mobile phones; well, it’s fair to say that Sony Ericsson really badly want to rule both!

Sony Ericsson S302 - cheap, cheerful, snappy

Say you want a Sony Ericsson camera phone, but not a mega-massive smartphone. If so, then the Sony Ericsson S302, the first phone in their whole new Snapshot series, is the perfect handset for you. It’s a great little handset, with a compact, slick body, a marvellous screen, and a funky little multimedia browser. In addition to that, in spite of this being classed in the ‘budget phone’ category, the Sony Ericsson S302 is equipped with a great little 2 megapixel camera. Ok, it doesn’t come with autofocus, but considering that it’s a budget camera phone, it’s brilliant!

However, that’s a low-end mobile phone… how about if you want something that’s got real power? What if you desire one of Sony Ericsson’s Cyber-Shot series…?

Sony Ericsson C905 - the ultimate camera phone?

You just can’t deny power, and one thing is very clear: the Sony Ericsson C905’s got much more sheer power than any other mobile phones you can buy in the UK. How come? Well, this is the first camera phone to be unleashed upon the UK that has an 8 megapixel camera. Yes, you read that right. EIGHT. That’s a ludicrously huge pixel resolution, and it means that the Sony Ericsson C905 will let you take the absolute most jaw-dropping images you’ve ever experienced, from any camera-equipped mobile phone, ever. Oh, and of course, don’t forget that Sony Ericsson have packed it full of Cyber-Shot technology, and that’s going to make the pictures it produces even more sumptuous. Combine that with a top of the range multimedia browser, WiFi, HSDPA and built-in GPS, and you have to come to the conclusion that the Sony Ericsson C905 is, without doubt, the king of the hill!

Communicate From Anywhere With Smartphones

February 27th, 2005

Nick Pegley asked:

Are you preparing to trade in your PDA and cellphone for a Smartphone? Here are the basics…

A Smartphone is basically a cellphone and PDA combined, allowing regular phone communication along with email and text messaging. Internet, fax, and data transfers between your office computer and the Smartphone are also included. There are some pros and cons to consider when preparing to switch over to the Smartphone solution:

Smartphone Internet Makes it Easier

Carrying just a Smartphone, there’s one less thing to lose. You have Internet access to check email, search for directions, or quickly find info. Scaled-down versions of popular computer applications are available. You use a keyboard instead of a phone pad, making it easier to type longer messages with ease.

Some Things to Consider About the Smartphone

The initial investment is about three times as much as a regular mobile phone including the additional fees for the network service access which supports Smartphone features. If you’re hooked on a small mobile phone, the Smartphone may seem large and awkward for calling. It may take a bit of time to get used to using the Smartphone. It can be a bit difficult to read text-heavy messages on the smaller screen. Navigating around the Smartphone and using all of the features requires a bit of a learning curve. Ready to invest in a Smartphone? Which one will you buy and what factors affect your decision?

Selecting the Right Service Contract is Critical

Before purchasing hardware, examine the plans that various service providers are offering very carefully. If you plan to purchase the hardware and plan together, you may get a good discount. Evaluate your plan coverage and usage fees as charges can be costly. It’s important to know exactly what the terms are before the first the bill arrives.

Then Choose Your Smartphone Model

After selecting a plan which suits you, your choice of a Smartphone model will be narrowed. Which features are unnecessary for you? The MP3 player and camera may be nice to have, but the big files could clog up memory and make browsing the Internet very slow.

Is the Smartphone Really for You?

Allow some time to play around with the device, to make sure your Smartphone is easy to use. If it isn’t, you may want to add a Bluetooth device to the set-up. Consider the weight of the Smartphone. It’s nice to have lots of memory, but is the device so unpleasant to carry that you wouldn’t use it? Look at how things are organized on the Smartphone. Does it make sense o you? Can you to find what you want? You may consider purchasing additional software for your Smartphone to customize it to your personal style.

Smartphone Synchronicity

Now that you have a Smartphone, there is free software available; but the standard for Smartphone synching appears to be Microsoft Windows Mobile for Smartphones 5.0. For a review of the Smartphones packaged with Microsoft Windows Mobile, visit Microsoft online.

The 8 Megapixel Camera Phone War is About to Start!

December 20th, 2004

Matt Sharp asked:

Mobile phones with 5 megapixels are SO 2007… As we head towards the end of 2008, 8 megapixel mobile phones are clearly the way forward, and with 3 separate 8 megapixel handsets announced or leaked (by Samsung, Sony Ericsson and LG), the war starts right here!

Sony Ericsson C905 - the Cyber-Shot contender

Sony Ericsson grabbed the title of ‘first 8 megapixel mobile phone announced in the UK’, with the sliding, stunning C905. It took the lead, mostly because of the sheer number of pixels it has, but also due to the fact that like earlier high-end Sony Ericsson camera-equipped mobile phones, it’s powered by Cyber-Shot technology (or as it tends to be known round here, ‘ooooh, the good stuff’). That means that as well as the expansive pixel count, the Sony Ericsson C905 gives you xenon flash, autofocus, image stabiliser, low-light modes and various other gubbins to make for one powerful camera-equipped mobile phone. It’s pretty, too, with that sliding body looking really rather mouth-watering.

However, it’s not without competition, because now, the two big Korean makers of mobile phones, LG and Samsung, have rocked up to the party with their offerings.

Samsung i8510 INNOV8 - the smartphone kid

Whilst the Sony Ericsson C905 is powerful, there’s one thing it’s definitely not, and that’s a smartphone. It may be Cyber-Shot powered, but it’s still effectively a normal mobile phone with extra bits glued on. Compare that to the Samsung i8510 INNOV8, which is like a thoroughbred smartphone, bred purely for the purpose of doing things other mobile phones can’t do. So, as well as the 8 megapixel camera (which nearly matches the C905 on specs and features), you get the Symbian S60 operating system (made famous by Nokia), so you can fill it full of third party software, as well as whatever Samsung provide.

However, there’s a new contender, that’s just been leaked within the last few days, and it looks like could knock both the Sony Ericsson and the Samsung for six. It’s the frankly astonishing LG KC910 Renoir.

LG KC910 Renoir - the iPhone-Killer, Mark II

Announced only this week is a brand new mobile phone that picks up where the iconic LG Viewty left off: the stunning, and frankly mouth-watering, KC910 Renoir, from LG. The best way to describe is simply by saying it’s an 8 megapixel Viewty. It really is a stunner, with sleek looks, a full touchscreen interface, all the features from its predecessor, and enough charm, charisma and raw power to give every other mobile phone in the world a good kicking. Let’s not forget how many units of the LG Viewty were sold in 2007… and I predict this bad boy will match its success. Sony Ericsson stand a chance of doing well alongside it, as the two mobile phones are aimed at different market sectors, but Samsung had better be afraid, because the big new LG is after it!

Mini Digital Camcorder - New Mobile Revolution That Fits Nicely Into Your Pocket

March 21st, 2003

Corbin Newlyn asked:

If you are having challenges trying to carry around your camcorder, and because of that, you end up losing out on your more treasured moments everywhere you traveled; you no longer need to concern yourself with this. As of late, size reductions in different types of camcorders, or better known as mini digital camcorder, has begun to enter into and is gradually increasing in market saturation.

In the not too distant past, people were still utilizing camcorders that were up to 2 pounds, however nowadays, these newer types of camcorders weigh only as much as your mobile phone making it more transportable.

Miniaturized Mobile Video

When looking at it in a different perspective, this new type of trend is really not so new after all. In reality it began with mobile phones. At one time mobile phones were as large as bricks, then as time progressed they became about half that size, and a little later they have turned into a device as small as a matchbox.

The camcorder manufacturers were taking notice of this trend and it motivated them to switch from large and bulky camcorders to the smaller ones that fit into a small pouch, and eventually into even smaller types that will fit into a small pencil case.

The most beneficial part of it all is that regardless of how small the mini digital camcorder has become, the quality of the image has rarely if it all decreased, because of the introduction of superior compression technology which saves and stores the whole video into a smaller file size, but retains its quality of output.

Technological Evolution

This mini Digital camcorder can be equated to the miniature version of the hard drive camcorders in which you are able to record the raw video stored within the internal hard drive, which you can then transfer onto a different computer through FireWire or USB 2.0.

Video is then saved in the newer Mpeg-4 format. This format is the newest generation of video compression format to save a raw video file in the smallest size without effecting quality of video output.

The mini Digital camcorder also has the capability of being one of the best digital still cameras, and the majority of them have an extremely high picture quality capturing ability utilizing Carl-Zeiss lens with a capacity of up to 8 megapixels. Even better, some of the newest versions of mini digital camcorders have a web cam, an MP3 player, as well as a voice recorder integrated into it.

A mini digital camcorder less expensive than conventional digital camcorders, due to the fact that this kind of camera is has a market amongst teenagers, particularly those who prefer to travel and take snapshots or video of there trip.

They are available in many different colors and they fit in your palm. The captured videos also have the capability to be played directly on your television set to be shared with everyone.
